Free Neighborhood Bike-In

Um, why did we ever get rid of drive-ins? Driving your car to an outdoor movie is a great summer activity, and while there’s still one across the river in Georgetown, Indiana, gone are the days when you’d have two to a city. Olmstead Parks is bringing back the tradition, but with a more environmentally-friendly spin — a series of bike-ins: Ride your bike to a neighborhood park to watch a film. In this case, it’s the 1998 animated movie “A Bug’s Life,” and it’ll be preceded by live music with Louisville hip-hop artist Dr. Dundiff and beatboxer Rayul. In keeping with the tradition of delicious drive-in snacks, there will be local food trucks and beer from West Sixth Brewing. Also for the kiddos are games and activities. If you don’t live close to the Clifton neighborhood, three more bike-ins are coming to a park near you. —Danielle Grady
