Flora K. Schildknecht And Annette Allen

“She often arrived on the scene with a slouch, walking with tenderness to the gate to pick up her little girl so as not to disturb a hangover.” Flora Schildknecht, author of the prose-and-a-play collection “Megafauna,” is certainly no slouch, as her characters open up unflinchingly. The Spalding University graduate and Pushcart nominee is at Carmichael’s this week, ready to introduce you to a gallery filled with everyday roguish behavior examined with caustic wit and eye-opening honesty. The characters in these short stories do not play well with others, but they can lead readers to fascinating revelations. Also on the bill is poet Annette Allen.
