Pickles, sauerkraut, miso, kimchi, kombucha, yogurt — and, of course, beer and wine — are fermented food and drinks. The Fermentation Festival is joining with the Flea Off Market for a tasty and enlightening weekend. Fermented food and beverages has tremendous health and wellness benefits, and is something you can make at home. The festival kicks off with keynote remarks from Sandor Ellix Katz (suggested $10 donation), whom The New York Times called “one of the unlikely rock stars of the American food scene,” followed by a Q&A and book signing. Check the Facebook page for a full list of talks and workshops, which require tickets (prices vary from free to $25).
