‘Feminist Expressions’

The Kentucky Foundation for Women is a feminist arts foundation started by writer Sallie Bingham in Louisville in 1985. It awards grants to artists and organizations working toward equality and social change. Kaviar Forge & Gallery is showing 18 Kentucky artists who received a KFW Artist Enrichment grant in “Feminist Expressions.” The invitational exhibition features a variety of media and styles that reflect personal statements of feminism. The opening reception is during the Nov. 30 F.A.T. Friday Trolley Hop from 6 to 8 p.m.

‘Feminist Expressions’

Jo Anne Triplett is the contributing visual arts editor at LEO Weekly. She’s a past member of the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Public Art, was the content advisor on the Glassworks Building video, and has written for Louisville Magazine, Kentucky Homes and Gardens and the national publication Glass Craftsman. Jo Anne came to Louisville from Washington, D.C. where she worked as a researcher and writer for the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
