Farm Distillery Day

Bourbon is “America’s native spirit.” Congress says so! See how it was done in the 19th century. Locust Grove acquired its distillery in 1808, and now The Locust Grove Farm Distillery Project allows you to experience the entire process— from “grain to still,” including the dependence on slave workers. Alas, it’s a historic experience, not a drinking experience. No alcohol is produced in the still, but that means the entire family is welcome. Admission includes access to the Visitor’s Center, the historic house and other buildings on the property.
