Nature meeting clay, as introduced by ceramicist John McCarthy, results in botany a bit amok. His abstract organic forms feature close-up details that add intriguing texture. McCarthy describes his hand-built sculpture as “highly manipulated” and “inspired by nature” (inspired being the key word).  That they are, consummating in art that is fancifully alive.
