You’ve probably heard the name Elmer Lucille Allen around Louisville. She’s a star in the local art scene, the scientific community, in activism and feminist circles. She’s packed a lot in her nine decades of life. Allen’s artwork is varied, as well, because she is both a fiber artist and ceramicist. This show at Surface Noise features her shibori dyed textiles. There will be a closing reception on Sunday, May 15 from 6-8 p.m.
