We ask: What’s not to love about the idea of drag queens, seasoned performers, reading books to children and exposing them to the diversity that’s humanity? Apparently, not everyone is into the idea, though, since this is the second time drag queen storytime has been scheduled as a library event. Some people on social media were unhappy about the original announcement, and the library ended up canceling, although its director said the decision had nothing to do with the criticism. Fabulousness prevails, thank goodness, and drag queen storytime is happening, led by Vanessa Demornay, a Louisville resident, Miss Kentucky Newcomer and a professional hair and makeup artist. We know everyone wants to go to this event, but it’s meant for children and their families only. Luckily, there’s Play Louisville in Butchertown for you adult fans of the female illusion.
