Derby City’s Race
to the Runway

The creative circle that buzzes around hatter Olivia Griffin is hosting a happy hour fashion show in the middle of Fourth Street with pop-up shopping and live hot jazz by The Derby City Dandies. “We want to make it known to the locals that South Fourth Street is more than Wig Shops and Fourth Street Live! “ said Griffin, who is pushing Derby attire away from hyper-preppy toward hyper-stylized and outrageously original with vivid colors and vintage accents. Along with Griffin and her store, The Mysterious Rack, other local businesses involved include Butch Sager of Gifthorse, Mary Levinsky of Block Party Handmade Boutique, Prince Crittenden of “Phresh and the City” along with stylist Janet Weeden, and The New Blak and Art & Soul Beads, which makes all of their jewelry and dresses are by hand in their shop at 2640 Frankfort Ave.
