Nerd/Geek culture is certainly on the rise with so many sci-fi and fantasy properties being made into mainstream movies. But let’s not forget where all these stories of gods and super-powered people came from: the almighty comic book! The Derby City Comic Con is a massive celebration of this amazing art-form, with plenty of panel discussions from writers, artists, filmmakers and cosplayers, as well as miles of vendors, comic books and comic inspired paraphernalia. And be sure to check out the official after-party at Haymarket Whiskey Bar, where from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday you can “come kick it with artists as they draw and paint,“ and all art will be for sale.
