This is probably the most metal volunteer project ever. You’ll be tearing up the ground of an ugly parking lot with saws and pry bars in order to plant trees in the place of concrete (OK, maybe someone else will be handling the saws). The actual tree planting isn’t until Nov. 3, but this is an important part of a new effort to decimate urban sprawl in Louisville and replace it with greenspace. It’s BYOPB (Bring your own pry bar) and gloves, wheelbarrow, steel-toed shoes and water if possible. You also need to sign a waiver. Like I said, metal.
