David Sedaris Hits Our Streets

It’s a diary-release party! Well, sort of. David Sedaris’ new book “Theft By Finding” compiles his diary entries from a quarter-century. The raw first drafts behind his humor; the budding and early steps of one of modern America’s signature literary voices; and you-are-there impressions of the wild and (mostly) funny stories of the Sedaris family that we’ve come to hold close — they’re all here. Carmichael’s is putting a unique spin on this event, starting with two hours of street partying. (The bookseller has invited local businesses including Steel City Pops to set up carts, and fun activities for all ages are promised.) At 7 p.m., those who’ve paid $30 can pick up their copy of the new book and get into the signing line.
