Chris Van Allsburg

Board games and trains are staples of childhood entertainment, but only rare imagination and talent like Chris Van Allsburg’s can utilize childhood clichés so effectively that they transport adults and children alike into riveting worlds of adventure and magic. Allsburg, the Caldecott award-winning author of “Jumanji” and “The Polar Express,” will be on stage Tuesday in the Science Center’s four-story theater, sharing his inspirations and methods, as well as discussing his life, art and career, followed by a Q&A and book signing. While children may be Allburg’s biggest fan base, this presentation is for adults and young adults. Admission to the event is free, but you must RSVP at Carmichael’s Kids on Bardstown Road, by calling 709-4900 or at carmichaelsbookstore.com.
