Choreographers’ Showcase

The definition of choreographer is: to arrange or direct the movements, progress or details of. To decide how a dancer or group of dancers will move during a performance. The Louisville Ballet’s “Choreographers’ Showcase” is one of their most popular events. This year’s choreographers, creating work just for the Louisville Ballet, are members Roger Creel, Justin Michael Hogan and Sanjay Saverimuttu. Also presenting a dance is former Louisville Ballet member Ben Needham-Wood, now with the Smuin Contemporary American Ballet in San Francisco. The theme this year is narrative storytelling. The program is danced in the Ballet’s studios; if the audience got any closer, they would be on the stage. Remember I said this is popular? The Friday and Saturday performances are already sold out as we go to press.
