The violinist Tessa Lark calls her musical style, “Stradgrass.” It’s the perfect label for this category-defying young artist. Born and raised in Richmond, Kentucky, Lark has bona-fide bluegrass roots and a transcendent command of the classical violin repertoire. This Sunday’s concert features Beethoven’s magnificent “Kreutzer” Sonata, wonderful works by Franck and Stravinsky and her own richly textured “Appalachian Fantasy.” In the acoustically superb setting of UofL’s Comstock Hall, this promises to be one of the best musical events of the year.
