‘Cast A Magic Circle’ By Irene Mudd

October rolls out a lot of Halloween-themed events, from the fun to the scary. Irene Mudd’s debut solo exhibition at Revelry may be more authentic than most. “The practice of art and magic are one in the same for me,” the collage artist said. “I treat my artistic process in the same way I would a magic ritual.” Mudd, Revelry’s curator and visual director, is a practitioner of tarot as well as a visual artist. The show features her work of “art magic,” the term she uses to explain her belief that the creation of art, by its nature, is magical and powerful.
