Even in the face of all the news about Bernheim (LG&E wants to run a pipeline through it, and the state wants to run a highway through it),  the forest has added an event to its annual BugFest: a Butterfly Dome Experience. This lets visitors get up close and personal with the butterflies, (gently) handling them while learning about their habitat at Bernheim. This experience will hopefully entice you to come back on Oct. 6 for the Butterfly Release, in which visitors can choose a butterfly (it’s suggested to come early for the best pick) and release it back into its natural habitat. —Ysabella Leon
