To paint en plein air means to paint in the open air, and what’s better than the open air of our beautiful Bluegrass State? Not much. What’s neat about this kind of painting is that nature dictates the evolution of the painting, or, as the name of the show suggests, capturing brief moments in time. “The elements change constantly as we are painting; for example, the light or a shadow cast from a passing cloud, a building or a person, a foggy or cloudy day, a blustery or calm day, people moving and more,” said Jane Morgan, the group’s founder. “Brief Moments in Time” features the work of over 30 artists who work with oil paint as well as pastels.
