For five years, Books and Breakfast has been meeting monthly to discuss social issues affecting the community and to encourage and promote reading among Black children and adults. To celebrate its anniversary, there will be books and breakfast, of course, but also music from DJ Quinnette Connor. This month’s theme is The Uprise, dedicated to Louisville’s revolt against the city’s history of local police assaulting and harassing Black people. Masks are required, but they’ll be provided if you don’t have one.
