Black Violin

Hip-hop + classical = classical boom. Violist Wil B. and violinist Kev Marcus are Black Violin, a classically-trained duo that specialize in mixing the genres, labeling it “classical boom.” They met in high school and formed Black Violin after college. Two early performances caught people’s attention: playing with Alicia Keys at the 2004 Billboard Awards and winning the 2005 “Showtime at the Apollo” Legend award. Since then, the musicians/writers/producers have worked with Kanye West, Aerosmith and Wyclef Jean. Warning: Black Violin recently performed in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It sold out.
