The first time I heard Big K.R.I.T. was on ASAP Rocky’s track “1 Train.” It’s a posse cut that also features Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, Yelawolf, Danny Brown and Action Bronson, but Big K.R.I.T. hands down had the most memorable verse. And anybody who can stand out in a song with that many hip-hop heavy weights is definitely worth paying attention to. He’s a trap rapper with a laid back flow that mixes well with those signature Southern soul beats. He’s one of the best Southern rappers around, and his opening act, BJ the Chicago Kid, is pretty spectacular as well. Check it out.
