Regardless of where you fall in the “Is Louisville still weird?” debate, we can all agree that Bardstown Road Aglow is a great holiday tradition. All month, Bardstown Road shops and businesses will light up the dark, cold, wintry nights with holiday spirit and lights. The switch is flipped Saturday, along with the big spruce tree lighting in front of Wendy’s at Bardstown Road and Grinstead Drive. There will also be the Polar Palooza at Baringer Avenue, with live music, kids activities, selfies with Santa, an Instagram contest (with cash prizes), drink specials at participating pubs, carolers and more. Also, new this year is the Barrett Ave Adventure, with food, drink and shopping specials at participating businesses. It’s the holiday spirit we’re here for… weird or not. —Aaron Yarmuth
