‘Arts in Health’

While “music soothes the savage beast” is a good saying, I prefer “all the arts soothe the savage human.” This is something Robert Gupta knows well. The Fund for the Arts is bringing Gupta, a violinist in the Los Angles Philharmonic and an advocate for mental health, to town to be the keynote speaker at the “Arts in Health” breakfast (open to the public). “Experiencing and engaging in the arts promote wellness, longevity, feelings of connection and deepened sense of purpose,” says Christen Boone, Fund for the Arts President and CEO. “[The] Fund for the Arts is leveraging the therapeutic and healing benefits of the arts not just in healthcare, but for all citizens of our community.”
