Ali Week

The first week of June in Louisville is “Ali Week,” an annual celebration of the life and legacy of The Greatest. Across town there will be events, activities, special discounts, film screenings and other activities for the whole family. On Friday, June 7, the Daughters of Greatness breakfast series, which honors prominent women engaged in philanthropy, activism and social justice, will honor UofL President Dr. Neeli Bendapudi. The Ali Film Fest will be all day Saturday, June 8, and include the new HBO documentary “What’s My Name,” which was produced by NBA superstar LeBron James. LEO columnist, poet and spoken word artist Hannah L. Drake will lead a writing workshop and inspiration session on knowing your value. There is so much more this week, so for all the events and details, go to the website to find out more. —Aaron Yarmuth
