Visiting Louisville for the first time in its history, the 25th Anniversary Southern Fried Poetry Slam Festival is sure to have an event for everyone during its four-day run. From a Haiku Deathmatch to an Erotic Open Mic and a Nerd Poetry Slam, this event brings together many genres of poetry for festival-goers. Aside from the competitions and open mics, the festival also holds writing workshops for all-access pass holders and community service projects. Founded with the goal to unite the diverse subcultures of the South, the festival now is the second-largest poetry slam in the nation. Individual events will be split between the Kentucky Center and KMAC Museum so check the website for more details.
