This week, crowds will converge onto Waterfront Park for WFPKs Waterfront Wednesday series. When they do, theyll be visiting one of the best riverwalks in America.
On Monday, Waterfront Park was voted the fourth best riverwalk in the United States by USA Today readers. The Detroit International Riverwalk was the first place finisher.
The contest was USA Todays 10 Best Readers Choice Awards. A panel of experts nominated Waterfront Park for the honor, along with 20 other spots across the country. Then, the public went to work, with the ability to cast one vote per day for a period of four weeks.
This is what USA Today had to say about Waterfront Park: Since 1986, Louisville's frontage along the Ohio River has undergone quite the renaissance with the introduction of the 85-acre Waterfront Park, an expanse of picnic areas, walking paths and sprawling green spaces. Visitors to the riverwalk enjoy picnic areas, playgrounds, boat launches and numerous public art installations.
Waterfront Park was also recently named one of the 21 best urban park/trail by Mens Journal.
