Art news “Connect/Disconnect” is a public art exhibition that will take place during the fall of 2015. Louisville Metro Government and the Commission on Public Art have announced an open call for Louisville artists for event-based installations, performances and/or programs to further activate the riverfront and enrich the visitor experience during the Connect/Disconnect exhibition. Louisville Visual Art has announced an updated curriculum for High School Children's Fine Art Classes (CFAC). With the initiation of The Academy of LVA in Fall 2015, students between the ages of 14-18 can engage in a pre-college program designed to more fully prepare them for application and enrollment into fine art programs in the university or college of their choice. The mission of The Academy is to provide intensive, in-depth art experiences for talented and motivated art students. The program offers concentrated studies in two-dimensional art that include studio practices in drawing and painting, art history, critiquing skills and aesthetics. Instruction is covered by a sliding scale scholarship so that economic status will play no part in a child's participation (
