Art news The Kentucky State Fair has created an award for blacksmiths and forged metalwork sponsored by Kaviar Forge & Gallery. Louisville Visual Art, in association with Kroger, is seeking an artist interested in creating a large-scale indoor artwork for the Kroger on Westport Road. This artwork will have high visibility and will be prominently displayed within the store. There is no application fee to enter. Payment: $7,500-$10,000. The Carnegie Center is presenting "A Natural Muse: Challenging Notions of Art," a talk given by Martha Slaughter on Thursday, March 10 from 6-7:30 p.m. Slaughter is the Visual Arts Coordinator at Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest; the Carnegie Center's current exhibit “Bernheim: A Natural Muse” is a collaboration between Bernheim and the Carnegie Center (carnegiecenter.org).
