Apply For Civilian Review Board Online Free | Anytime Metro government will be collecting resumes through close of business, Dec. 10 for members of the public who wish to serve on a new board that will help investigate claims of police misconduct, internal reports on police killings and LMPD practices and procedures. Activists across Louisville have stressed the importance of regular citizens serving on the Civilian Review Board — so apply. For those of you who have been advocating for police reform during the protests, here is another chance to use your experience and passion. To be considered, submit a resume and a document of one page or less to your council member stating why you should be selected to sit on the Board. You can send it via email or registered mail. If you need help crafting a resume, several community members have offered up their services in the comments on this Facebook post by poet and activist Hannah L. Drake. You cannot apply if you’re an active member of law enforcement, an elected official, an employee of Metro government or a relative of a current law enforcement officer.TUESDAY, Dec. 8

LMPD has been embroiled in more than one sex abuse scandal in recent years, including within the Explorer Scout program and, more recently, when a Louisville attorney accused Detective Brett Hankison of sexually assaulting her. Black youth are taking their complaints to Jefferson County Commonwealth’s Attorney Thomas Wine’s office at 514 W. Liberty St. They’ll be meeting on Bardstown Road to caravan there at 3:30 p.m. with the rally at Wine’s office starting at 5 p.m.
Wealth Building Educational Session for Black Individuals & Families Online Free | 4-5 p.m. Noir Black Chamber of Commerce hosts this educational session on building wealth for Black individuals and families through investment planning. The experts are Desmond Robinson, a mortgage loan officer and owner of Robinson Mortgage Group; Sean Smith, a financial advisor with Edward Jones; and John Shaw-Woo, the founder and CEO of the Noir Black Chamber of Commerce. The event is free, but you must register in advance.

This one, #ChangeEducation, at 310 East Broadway, will provide mentoring for children. The nonprofit has secured the building but needs help buying furnishings and educational materials for the kids.
