The National Endowment for the Arts (www.nea.gov) Chairman Rocco Landesman has recently started on an “Art Works” tour. He plans to visit Kentucky, but the city and date are unknown at this time.

Galerie Hertz and Chapman-Friedman Gallery are participating in the Louisville Antiques and Fine Living Show Nov. 13-15. The show benefits the Heuser Hearing & Language Academy (www.thehearinginstitute.org).

Flame Run Glass Studio and Gallery (www.flamerun.com) has a kiosk in Mall St. Matthews through Dec. 31. It will feature hand-blown ornaments and smaller gifts.

 

Call for artists:

The Louisville Visual Art Association (www.louisvillevisualart.org) is presenting the 2010 Water Tower Regional Juried Exhibition from Jan. 24-March 7. They are currently seeking art for the show. Both 2-D and 3-D work will be accepted. Artists must be at least 18 years of age, and all work must be original, completed no more than two years prior to the show, and never previously exhibited in Louisville. A submission fee of $30 is required, and artists may submit up to three works per application. Deadline is Nov. 16.

The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft (www.kentuckyarts.org) is looking for artists interested in its Artist-in-Residency Program. Benefits include the use of studio space and tools, a $4,000 stipend and $1,000 for materials, free admission to adult workshops, and the opportunity to network with professional artists. Deadline for the spring 2010 residency is Dec. 20.

Actors Theatre (www.actorstheatre.org/thelateseating.htm) invites artists in all media to submit proposals for the upcoming 2009-2010 season of “The Late Seating.” Deadline is ongoing.
