Like “Games of Thrones”? Of course you do. What about “Star Trek,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” or “Star Wars?” Then, go see the art of Charles Hall (charleshallart on Instagram). A fanboy skilled with a paint brush, Hall specializes in small cards featuring popular science fiction films and television shows.

LEO: What type of artist are you? Charles Hall: I am a freelance artist specializing in oil paint. I do miniature oil paintings, called sketch cards, for trading card companies.

When did you start making art? I’ve always drawn things. Mostly neat airplanes and cool swords. ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ stuff. I remember first getting attention for a ‘Simpsons’ vs. ‘Ninja Turtles’ drawing in the second grade. That’s when I got hooked.

What are you currently working on? I’m currently working on ‘Lost in Space,’ ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Star Trek’ sketch cards, which are due for future release by Rittenhouse Archives. I am also forever tinkering on several personal projects and private commissions.

What is on your art bucket list? I’ve always thought that a good bass boat was a good indicator of success. I’d like to own a good bass boat one day.
