MONDAY

Johnny Azari Louis’s “The Ton” Free  |  8 p.m. With the Thanksgiving weekend on the horizon, nobody is going to get anything done. Embrace the holiday spirit of not working and having fun by seeing the enigmatic Johnny Azari at Louis’s “The Ton.” Azari is a New Orleans musician who “plays his own mutant form of the Mississippi Delta-Blues” that combines music, storytelling and comedy into one mesmerizing show.

TUESDAY

Keep Louisville Loud: Tall Squares and FWAB Highlands Tap Room Free  |  11 p.m. Do your part to Keep Louisville Loud this week at the Highlands Tap Room, with a free show featuring two local favorites. First up is the slacker rock band Tall Squares, followed by the post-grunge band Freddie Was A Boxer.

WEDNESDAY

Friendsgiving: A Celebration of the Families We’ve Found Louis’s “The Ton” Free  |  8 p.m. Don’t let the coming Trumpsgiving with your family ruin your holiday. Celebrate a day early with your friends at Louis’s Friendsgiving. There will be cocktail specials by Cardinal Spirits, music by HX, DJs Hi-Definition and Bonezky and food specials that “have nothing to do with the turkey or stuffing or anything you'll be eating the following day.”

novemberGroup Performs Terry Riley’s “in C” Clifton Center $5  |  8 p.m. This show has become a recurring gathering for novemberGroup — “a wide variety of classical, avant garde, and punk musicians from Louisville.” The show features an array of local players, with new ones always showing up. But what happens relies totally on the commitment of its implementers. (All proceeds from the door will be donated to Louisville Leopards Percussionists.)

Kaiju’s 2nd Birthday Party Kaiju Free  |  4 p.m. It’s hard to believe, but Kaiju is turning 2 this week! Join this Germantown bar to celebrate its birthday with anime, video games, drink specials, birthday cake, food trucks and live music by Powell and John Cletus Wilcox.

Games on Tap Thanksgiving Edition Great Flood Brewing Co. Free  |  6 p.m. The Great Flood Brewing Co. can’t wait for Thanksgiving to start, so it's throwing a special Games on Tap Potluck. Great Flood will provide the turkey. All you have to do, if you can, is bring a side to share (sign up here to avoid duplicates). And as with any Games on Tap night, a number of board games will be on hand.

THURSDAY

Thanksgiving Night Party Mag Bar Free  |  10 p.m. If you can somehow wake up from your turkey coma, pry yourself from the couch and brave the cold, Mag Bar is hosting a bitchin’ Thanksgiving Night Party. Up front Beenee and Max will spin records, and, in back, Josh Card and The Restless Souls, and Low Heaven will be playing. And at the bar there will be $1 beers!

FRIDAY

Eat, Drink, Donate Friday Gerstle’s Place Free  |  12 p.m. You could spend your Friday feeding the corporate merchandise machine by participating in Black Friday. Or, you could spend it eating, drinking and donating at Gerstle’s Place. There will be lunch specials featuring “Thanksgiving Leftovers,” and drink specials by Ballotin Chocolate Whiskey, and Wayside Christian Mission will be accepting donations of canned goods, gloves, socks and hats.

Light Up Louisville Fourth & Jefferson Streets (Holiday Square) Free  |  8 p.m. Since Thanksgiving will have been over for less than 24 hours, that means it'll be time for Christmas! Join the mayor, Santa Claus and half of the city for a night of live music, ice skating, parades and beautiful lights.

“Psychedelic Color Explosion” by Daisy Baker Gallery K Free  |  6 p.m. Escape the banality and greed surrounding Black Friday and stop into Gallery K for a Psychedelic Color Explosion. Local multimedia artist Daisy Baker will be showing work and hosting a pop-up shop for her brand, DaisyCakes. The technique she uses to dye her clothing and tapestries involves ice, which leaves kaleidoscopic bursts of color on the fabric as it melts. If images of cell division, cosmic interactions and fractals found in nature fascinate you… you will enjoy yourself. In honor of Thanksgiving, 5 percent of sales from this evening will be donated to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. If that’s not enough... Free food and music!
