Speakers at this event will be discussing race, ethnicity and culture in Louisville, to coincide with the Muhammad Ali Center’s newest exhibit, “Race: Are We So Different?”
CineLou Presents: “Three On A Meathook” Kaiju Free | 11:30 p.m. What better time to watch a cult horror film than during Halloween week. And what better cult horror film to watch than “Three On A Meathook,” a “sleazy slasher” shot right here in Louisville and released in 1973 to grindhouses and drive-ins everywhere. As Kaiju put it, it will be a night of “Blood! Sex! Gore! Nudity! Free Popcorn! More Blood!”

Deutschland Doghaus Gralehaus Prices vary | 6 p.m. Join Gralehaus for a night of German-inspired food and beer in the "gralegarten" this Wednesday. Guest brewers Freigeist Bierkultur, Mahrs Bräu and Ritterguts are coming all the way from Germany to showcase a few specially brewed altbiers (a dark beer specific to the region around Düsseldorf, Germany). Beats & Eats: Diwali, Hindu New Year Decca Restaurant Prices vary | 10:30 p.m. Celebrate the Diwali Hindu New Year with Decca and Chef Annie Pettry who, for one night only, will be exploring the tastes of India with a number of dishes (all for under $8). There will also be specialty drinks, including the “Five Dolla Holla” which consists of a shot of bourbon and a can of beer for, you guessed it, $5. And DJ Kim Sorise will be keeping the music going all night long!Era of Machines, Lower Automation, Brain Bagz Mag Bar Free | 9 p.m. Mag Bar, a favorite bar in Old Louisville, is hosting a night of free live music with Louisville metal band Era of Machines, experimental punk band Lower Automation and punk psychedelia band Brain Bagz.
STOOK plays Kaiju Kaiju Free | 10 p.m. Join Stook, a “fringe band from Louisville,” as they play some experimental jazz/punk at Kaiju this Thursday. And to satisfy your “spiritual needs,” Kaiju will also play 1979’s “Alien” on its big-ass projector. It’s an unusual pairing, but nothing about Halloween week should be the usual.

ReSurfaced 319 S. Shelby St. Free | 5 p.m. This is your last week to explore the Liberty Build version of ReSurfaced. So make sure and come out Friday for Alex Smith’s Hoot & Holler, and Saturday for a closing night celebration with an Art Buffet by LVA, pumpkin creating with Seven Nine Eighty Productions, live music by a number of local artists, and a fried chicken throw-down with SlowFoods.Civilian, Stagecoach Inferno, Putrid Liquid, Gravespawn Mag Bar Free | 10 p.m. Mag Bar is hosting yet another night of free live music to play out the most metal month of all, October. Acts include “thrashing riffsplosion” band Civilian, “filthy goregrind” band Putrid Liquid, metal grindcore band GraveSpawn, and wild west metal band Stagecoach Inferno. There will also be metal DJs to keep the party going throughout the night. Stranger Things Art Show Studio Post Office Free | 7 p.m. Studio Post Office is hosting a “Stranger Things” art show because “Stranger Things” is the perfect inspiration for a Halloween art show. That sentence either made you giddy with excitement at the idea of having a local artist's “Stranger Things”-inspired work on your wall, or it didn’t, which means you’re dead inside.
