24/7 Wall Street recently named a longtime Louisville favorite, Oriental House, as the best Chinese restaurant in Kentucky.
The financial news and opinion site published its Best Chinese Restaurant In Every State list on Sunday. (The Oriental House entry is listed on the fifth page.)
The methodology for creating the list came from reviews and ratings on a wide range of websites, including Food & Wine Magazine, The Daily Meal, Travel & Leisure, Eater, Time Out, Three Best Rated, Lao Sze Chuan, Food News and Yelp, as well as state and regional restaurant listings for every state, according to the article.
Author Jordan Litchfield wrote, The inviting, pagoda-shaped Oriental House is a Louisville mainstay for Hunan and Szechuan specialties, as well as expertly made dim sum. Only fresh, high-quality ingredients go into their sprawling menu; be sure to check out the Authentic Chinese section, where youll find hot pots, congee, rice crêpes, crispy skin chicken, and seared whole Pacific pompano.
Oriental House has been around in Louisvilles St. Matthews neighborhood since the 1960s, although its had different ownership over the years.
It isnt just a favorite of the webs, its a LEO darling, with several glowing reviews praising its dim sum and authentic Chinese dishes.
Oriental House is open at 4302 Shelbyville Road from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday; from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday; and from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.
