Window Broken, Guitar Stolen Out Of Surface Noise Record Shop

Surface Noise, a local record store on Baxter Avenue, posted to social media Friday saying that someone broke one of their windows and stole a bass guitar.

The store shared photos of the theft and the damage, which showed a sizable hole in the glass.

The Epiphone bass guitar, which the post said was hand-painted, was decorated like the American flag. Surface Noise is asking people to keep an eye out for the guitar “at a pawn shop, guitar store, or someplace on the internet.”

The store posted a photo of a No. 13 billiard ball with the caption, “This would appear to have been the culprit.”

In a public Facebook post Monday, store owner Brett Ralph shared a reaction to the break-in.

I appreciate everyone who has reached out,” he said. “It feels really good to be reminded that my city has my back.”

The store posted that insurance will pay to fix the window, which has since been boarded up.

Still sucks to get robbed,” the post read, “but things are looking up.”
