Today is 4/20, a day in which many people celebrate and promote the joys and benefits of cannabis. Here’s a list of five local events that are all about appreciating the green stuff (even if it isn’t legal yet in Kentucky).
$20 (for all-you-can-eat wings) | 11 a.m.-midnight
Four Pegs will celebrate the holiday tomorrow with live music, plus some food and drink specials like the Blue Carpet Treatment (named after a 2006 album by rapper/cannabis aficionado Snoop Dogg) and a “420 burger” loaded with mac and cheese and bacon. It’ll also be “WINGSDAY,” where $20 will get you as many wings as your munchies ask for. Make your reservation by calling the restaurant (634-1447) or through OpenTable.
420 Community Cannabis Jamboree
Steel & Leaf
Free | 4-7 p.m.
We can’t light up blunts en masse in Louisville yet, but we can ignite awareness. This 4/20 event is all about cannabis advocacy and education and will feature live music, free food, chalk art, local vendors, prize raffles and games as well as a Community Outreach Spotlight Hour, highlighting local nonprofits.
Puff & Paint
$35 | 5-7 p.m.
If you’ve ever been to a paint and sip class, this is the same concept, but think blunts instead of Bordeaux. (That said, every participant will get a free drink, but “BYOW.”) DJ Bombshell will provide the beats; Ania Diallo will teach the class how to make a psychedelic painting.
Blazed and Infused
$10 | 7-10 p.m.
Right after the puff & paint class ends, PRIZM will offer local comedy and CBD-infused food options (with limited availability) for a very affordable price. The organizers recommend you arrive early to grab the food before it runs out.
June’s 420 POTT Show
Planet of the Tapes
$5 | 10-9:30 p.m.
Planet of the Tapes is hosting a late-night 4/20 comedy show with local performers June Dempsey, Mandee McKelvey and Dan Alten.
