The executive chef for Churchill Downs has opened a Southern-style ghost kitchen called Hoss Boss Wings & Ribs.

A ghost kitchen is a restaurant with no physical storefront, open for delivery only.

Chef David Danielson’s new restaurant, starting delivery today, sells southern-style chicken wings and baby back ribs with southern sides.

“With the gaining popularity of virtual restaurants and ghost kitchens, I’m excited about the opportunity to develop chef driven concepts that we feel will resonate with diners and give new variety of dishes thru delivery and fast casual landscape,” said Danielson in a news release.

With the restaurant industry suffering from the pandemic, ghost kitchens have risen in popularity. One estimate from a market research firm called Euromonitor predicts that it could be a $1 trillion industry by 2030.

Prestigious chefs have started entering into the ghost kitchen game, from Guy Fieri to three-Michelin-star chef Curtis Duffy in Chicago.

Danielson, who has been the head chef at Churchill Downs since 2011, has made national television appearances, including on “Top Chef,” ABC World News and the Travel Channel. He’s also the author of “The Bourbon Country Cookbook.”

You can order Hoss Boss eats via DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
