MONDAY

Haymarket’s 4th Annual Repeal Day Celebration Haymarket Whiskey Bar Free  |  4 p.m. This Monday is Repeal Day, a day marking the 83rd anniversary of the end of Prohibition. So, naturally, every bar in the city will be partying. At Haymarket Whiskey Bar, they will be celebrating with some special bottles at 9 p.m., and $3 pours of whiskey and beer all day long.

Old Forester Repeal Day Garage Bar Free  |  5 p.m. Garage Bar may not be a whiskey bar, but that won’t stop them from celebrating our city’s favorite booze, bourbon! So join Garage Bar for an Old Forester sponsored party with $5 Old Forester Old-Fashioneds and a Bourbon Pizza special.

Industry Night: Hospitality Tour & Cocktails Copper & Kings Free/RSVP  |  6 p.m. While this Copper & Kings party isn’t specific to Repeal Day, it still involves plenty of booze so close enough. RSVP to get a free tour of this Butchertown distillery, and enjoy their cash bar with $2 tastes, $6 cocktails and be sure to try the featured cocktail of the month, Sazeracs.

PTC: Golden (Dec. 5-6) Tim Faulkner Gallery Free/Ticketed  |  Times vary “Golden” is a play by Actor’s Theater’s Professional Training Company that follows the character of Sloane, as she spends her time delving into voyeurism while avoiding everything else. And you can see this play for free, with an open cash bar, at the Tim Faulkner Gallery this week.

Subterranean Phrases: Winter Quarter Dreamland $5/Donation  |  7:30 p.m. Just like LEO, The Winter Subterranean Phrases at Dreamland are a little eccentric. The night will start off with “Aaron Rosenblum reading wrangler advertisement narration to the music of Hearse drawn Carriage,” followed by a reading by author Bobbi Buchanan and a reading by John Stanford Owen who will be backed by musical improvisors. Just put your judgements aside and go enjoy it!

TUESDAY

The Mothra: Family Kaiju Free  |  6 p.m. After Trumpsgiving, I’m sure everyone has a few good stories to share on the topic of “Family.” Let Kaiju be your outlet with The Mothra, a legally-distinct night of original storytelling where you can unburden yourself by airing out your dirty laundry for others entertainment.

WEDNESDAY

Night Train Cinema Lounge: TV Holiday Special Kaiju Free  |  8 p.m. Brought to you by ARTxFM, Night Train Cinema Lounge presents cult, obscure, foreign and just flat-out bizarre films on Kaiju’s 16 foot screen, with free popcorn, too. And for this special holiday edition it’s all about bizaree TV holiday specials like the “Star Wars Holiday Special,” “The Bells of Fraggle Rock (84),” “X-Men: Have Yourself a Morlock Little Xmas (95),” “The Fat Albert Christmas Special (77)” and more!

THURSDAY

Yelp’s Guide to Giving 2016: Getting Amped for the Holidays SET at Theatre Square Free/Donations  |  5 p.m. Help Yelp pay if forward this this holiday season with an event benefiting AMPED (Academy of Music Production, Education and Development). Just bring a donation of either cash or gently used band instruments, and enjoy $5 glasses of SET’s house wine, half-priced bottles and if you check into SET via the Yelp app you can get 50% off your first cocktail.

FRIDAY

Howell’s Hoot & Holler Karaoke Zanzabar Free  |  9 p.m. Howell’s Hoot & Holler Karaoke is not your average karaoke session. Not only can you get on stage and sing your heart out, but you also get to enjoy random entertainment by Howell Dawdy, and free tacos from one of Louisville’s local taquerias. It’s a night best described on the Zanzabar website as “lame ass, insular, pseudo karaoke.”
