Equipment Pointed Ankh: STRESS GX

Equipment Pointed Ankh has returned to tap into the celestial zeitgeist again, here with a psychedelic swirl of warbling guitars. EPA mixes raga, manifested with the soft repetition of the drums, slow twanging drones and spidery lead work, as well as a distinct kraut rock influence, most notably on “Juno Money,” but running throughout, identified by stiff repetition and austere textures. There is a real darkness to the music that shows itself in a variety of ways, from the melancholic to the sublime. It’s a kaleidoscope serving as the backdrop to your fantasy, just as easily as it can take you to a darker place.
