(self-released)
With I Believe in Rollerblading, indie-prog rockers killii killii make their debut with a heavy emphasis on big sounds. The bass and drums bounce, and the guitar and occasional synth serve as textural work more than anything else, oscillating between lead lines and an almost shimmering kind of ambient thing. The vocals are traded between members, providing an ideal blending of harmonies, as well as a nice way to mix things up from track to track. The end result is a solid first release that shows a lot of promise. Will you walk away wanting to be a master at rollerblading? That’s for you to determine, but, for me, I want to believe.
