Kaviar Forge & Gallery is sponsoring an award for forged metalworking at the Kentucky State Fair. Deadline for entries: July 1 (kystatefair.org).

The Kentucky Foundation for Women is now scheduling art retreats at Hopscotch House. Individuals and groups may request retreats that will take place between Friday, July 29 and Sunday, December 11. Free of cost, the Retreat Program offers stays up to six days for artists, activists and allies who live and work in Kentucky and whose goals are to create art, gain a deeper understanding of feminism and strengthen their understanding of art and social change. To support the creative and social change development of women who have financial barriers, KFW offers a limited number of stipends (kfw.org).

The Carnegie Center is holding a live and silence art auction of works from its permanent collection from 12-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24 (carnegiecenter.org).

The Little Loomhouse is offering a needle felting class with Irene Meyers. Pre-registration required. Saturday, May 28 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The class will make mini-portrait doll heads. Cost: $99 (littleloomhouse.org).

“Teacup Serenade” by Lyndi Lou is opening at the Revelry Boutique Gallery on Saturday, May 28 at 7 p.m. It runs through June 23 (revelrygallery.com).
