“Phantom Familiar”— an early single from the Hot Prowlers’ forthcoming record Neon — is a big and driving piece of fiery rock that dips into the well of ’80s slinky, spacey synth, but it also maintains a punk(ish) backbone that somehow simultaneously makes the song both dark and inviting.
