Murals: Violet City Lantern

(Fire Talk)
Soaked in swirling psychedelia — the kind that bounces from hazy fuzz to brighter tones — Murals’ latest record, “Violet City Lantern,” is thick and dreamy, with the power to pull the listener into a serene state, where nothing else matters, not unlike sitting on a beach 1,000 miles from anything that will ruin your day. Something I like about the album is how there is only one song over four minutes, which gives them the ability to exercise a lot of experimental ideas quickly, keeping the album lean, and never getting lost.
