The University of Louisville is moving its Master of Fine Arts program to a renovated Portland warehouse space at 1606 Rowan St. It should be open for the spring 2017 semester. The MFA degree in studio arts and design includes ceramics, drawing, fiber, glass, painting, printmaking, sculpture, design, mixed media, book arts and interior architecture (louisville.edu/art/).

Call for art: Public Art Installation Proposal for the 9th Street Underpass. Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government, in partnership with the Louisville Downtown Partnership, invites artists, architects and designers to submit letters of interest and qualifications to be considered for the commission of a long-term public art/design installation to enhance the Ninth Street underpass in the 900 block of Main Street in downtown Louisville. Spalding University is embarking on a project to commission an artist to design a commemorative sculpture in honor of Mother Catherine Spalding. One of the finalists, Margo Sawyer, is giving a public lecture about her work on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. in the University Center Auditorium, 824 S. Fourth St. (spalding.edu).
The Conrad-Caldwell House Museum, 1402 St. James Ct., will be presenting the new book, “The House of Worth: Fashion Sketches 1916-1918” by Karen DePauw and Jessica Jenkins on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. Tickets are free for members and $10 for non-members (conradcaldwell.org).
