5 things to do in Louisville this weekend (12/4)

FRIDAY

Roast of Darth Vader
The Bard’s Town

$15; 7:30 & 10 p.m.
Dear fellow Star Wars nerds, take a break from analyzing every second of the most recent trailer, reading fan theories online and marathoning (the original trilogy) for the umpteenth time, and check out this hilarious new production by The Bard’s Town, a roast of Darth Vader with appearances by Han Solo, Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Storm Trooper #561, Yoda, Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi and Emperor Palpatine. It’s sure to give you the fix you need until premiere day.

SATURDAY

Red Bull Trail Daze
Jefferson Memorial Forest

$25-$30; 9 a.m.
Start your Saturday off right by running around in the woods like a wild person! The Red Bull Trail Daze is a trail running competition where runners choose from three different courses to race through, including trails with difficult terrain no shorter than three miles and trails with easy terrain no longer than five. But either way, it’s going to be a fun challenge (and it’s a hell of a lot better than the treadmill!).

Bardstown Road Aglow
Bardstown Road from Douglass Loop to Lexington Road

Free; Dusk till 10 p.m.
Think Black Friday with booze and a little Highland’s spirit mixed in and that’s the Bardstown Road Aglow. Every business along this magical stretch of road has some kind of special going on. From sales at your favorite clothing/antique stores to specialty drinks from your favorite bar or just the holiday joy you get from walking around a winter wonderland, unless you’re a lame-ass grinch, you don’t want to miss out on this.

Repeal Day Revel
Various Locations
What better way to celebrate this triumphant victory than by going on an epic bar hop? The Repeal Day Revel is five bars — 8UP, Meta, Doc Crow’s, Down One and Proof on Main — who are banding together, each providing live music and drink specials. Bar hoppers will be given a passport, which, if stamped at every location, makes them eligible for prizes.

SUNDAY

Flea Off Market
Fresh Growers Supply

Free; 11 a.m.
You know the deal, people. It’s Sunday, you’re exhausted from all of the running in the woods and heavy drinking you’ve been doing. And all you want is some warm food (or coffee) from the food truck, and an excuse to go treasure hunting for cool stuff. Well, thankfully, the Flea Off Market is here to fulfill all your Sunday needs with nearly 200 plus artists, vendors and local businesses. Enjoy!
