Visually Speaking: this week's art news and events (11/9)

Top art events Regina Fiorito, Gallery Director and Partner at Galerie Gisela Capitian, Cologne, is giving a talk about her role in an international constellation of art galleries. Monday, Nov. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at U of L’s Schneider Hall Galleries. Free and open to the public (louisville.edu/art).

Artist and illustrator Jennifer Maravillas is giving a talk on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at U of L’s Schneider Hall Galleries. The presentation will be on her recently completed work “71 Square Miles.” Open to the public. Seating is limited; please RSVP to louisville.aiga.org. The Fund for the Arts is presenting “Arts in Health” by Robert Gupta on Friday, Nov. 13. Open to the public. Tickets are $25 (fundforthearts.org).

The Little Loomhouse, 328 Kenwood Hill Road, is holding its “Third Annual Holiday in the Woods” on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 6-9 p.m. The holiday art sale feature local artists, refreshments and music (littleloomhouse.org).

The Third Annual Open Studio Weekend is on Saturday, Nov. 14 and Sunday, Nov. 15. Over 100 artists have opened their studios for viewing. Tickets are $20 (louisvillevisualart.org).
