1st Annual Brews of Louisville Bonfire
BBC East (St. Matthews)
Free; 5 p.m.
Finally, it’s cold enough to start setting large fires without being called a pyro. So, bring your lawn chairs and warm yourself by BBC East’s bonfire, with a beer in one hand and some grub from the Gourmet Dogs and Pollo food trucks in the other. Oh, and did I mention this event is also the official kick-off party for Derby City Brew Bus, a tour company focused solely on Louisville’s favorite local breweries?
5th Annual Writer’s Block Festival

Open Studio Weekend
All Over Louisville
$20; 10 a.m.
Or maybe the written word doesn’t do it for you quite like a good visual does. In that case, you should cough up the $20 and grab a pass for the Louisville Visual Art’s Open Studio Weekend. One wristband gives you access to over 100 artist studios and a chance to check out some of the best visual arts Louisville has to offer. With so much to see and experience, it’s a good thing this event lasts until 5 p.m. on Saturday, and starts again at noon on Sunday.
