Louisville has been selected to host the Glass Art Society (GAS) annual conference June 10-12, 2010. International glass artists will offer demonstrations, plus many local galleries will showcase exhibitions featuring glass. Local co-chairs are Brook White of Flame Run, Ché Rhodes of the University of Louisville and Merrily Orsini of Corecubed.

The “100 Portrait Series” by Shayne Hull, which includes portraits of Muhammad Ali, Mayor Abramson and U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth, is up for sale. The silent auction is now through June 12. Bidding is made in person at Proof, 700 W. Main St. Tell the bartender you’d like to bid on a portrait in the silent auction. All proceeds benefit the International Contemporary Art Foundation.

The next Arts Council of Louisville’s art technology training is April 2 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the downtown Louisville Free Public Library. Artists list their information online for free. RSVP at 585-9525.

Sculptor Ed Hamilton will present the free lecture “Public Space, Healing Space, A Place for Inner Action: How I Fit a Round Piece in a Square Hole” at 6 p.m. on April 2.
