just down the street. The center’s budget falls short of the

Foundation for Women’s Hopscotch House
(www.kfw.org) is available to artists for retreats August through
October. Deadline is June 6. Textile artist Mary Craik
(www.marycraik.com) is donating 50 percent of her June sales to U of
L’s Craik Scholarship Fund.

The
Archdiocese of Louisville has loaned the painting “William of
Aquitaine Converted by St. Bernard” by Gaspar de Crayer to the
Speed
Art Museum.
It has been in Kentucky since the 1800s.

director. U of L’s Fine Arts Chair Jim Grubola has received the
2008 U of L Trustees Award.

The
art magnet at DuPont
Manual High School
is presenting “Artist- teacher, Student-artist, The Best 100 3-D
Works” through June 4. One of the teachers, Susanne Sidebottom, was
a winner of the 2007-2008 Surdna Foundation Art Teacher Fellowship
that enabled her to attend Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.

Webster
University
(www.webster.edu.louisville) is showing the Photographic Imaging
Education Association (PIEA) photography contest that includes work
from seven countries. Louisville is the last stop of the tour for the
60-plus images, which will be on display through Aug. 2.
