"Only a good-for-nothing is not interested in his past.” —Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis
Several people took our annual year-end Not Good For Nothing Quiz on-line (answers printed below), therefore qualifying to compete for some cool prizes. Thank you to everyone who played and hopefully enjoyed the quiz, and congratulations to these winners:
1. Aidan and Tracy Kelly of New Albany got 55 correct answers. They win a $50 gift certificate from Red Tree, four tickets to see the Asylum Street Spankers in the LEO Presents A Little Off Center series at The Kentucky Center, and dinner for four at Jenicca’s Café and Wine Bar.
2. John J. Guthrie of Louisville got 54 correct answers and wins dinner for two at Mitchell’s Fish Market and two passes to Actors Theatre of Louisville’s production of “9 Parts of Desire.”
3. Rebecca Block of Louisville also got 54 correct answers and wins two tickets to Louisville Ballet’s production of “Uncharted Realms.”
And the answers are …
27. Can we get serious for a moment? What an outrageous double standard. Couric finally breaks the glass ceiling and lands the network’s top news job, and a CBS-owned magazine puts her on a Photoshop diet, making her appear thinner. This appalling retouched photo underscores the hypocrisy women face in American journalism and the plastic, smoke-and-mirrors of television journalism in general. Not only are Katie’s missing pixels an insult to all women, but now more than ever it’s important to have the daily bloodshed in Iraq, the third-quarter earnings reports and the new ways cholesterol can kill us read by someone with some junk in the trunk. So the answer is A, people. A!
45. A. Alice Cooper
46. D. Boy George
47. B. Bono
48. C. Bob Dylan
49. E. Jon Stewart
